Hare-less Wolf

This is one of my favorite Bugs Bunny gags. Directed by Friz Freleng in 1958, Charles M. Wolf is trying to catch Bugs and gets set up for this funny bit. Mel Blanc's delivery as he reads the instructions is hilarious.

I've never seen that gag before. Every version of that cartoon I've seen has that part editted out. I'd love to see that entire cartoon on a dvd set in the future.

It looks as though this entire scene was animated by Gerry Chiniquy. Not only was he "herky-jerky" with the character's movement, he'd jut the head forward on every syllable. I know Thad K can't stand his animation but I for one enjoy it. He's certainly not my favourite of the original WB artists, but he beats the pants off of anyone who just made things stiff, lifeless, and boring.
