I was lucky to receive a copy of the nineth season of The Simpsons on DVD this past Christmas.
This season is full of great episodes! Some of my personal favorites like:
"The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson" - The family travels to New York City so Homer can reclaim his vehicle.
"The Cartridge Family" - After a city-wide soccer riot breaks out, Homer decides to buy a gun to protect his family.
"Bart Star" - The children of Springfield catch junior-league football fever and Homer becomes coach of the team to make Bart his "star" quarterback.
"The Two Mrs. Nahasapeemapetilons" - Homer tries to help Apu escape his arranged marriage.
"Das Bus" - The students of Springfield Elementary travel to the UN but their bus crashes along the way, stranding them on a deserted island.
"Dumbbell Indemnity" - Moe finally finds love with help of insurance fraud and Homer.
"The Trouble with Trillions" - Homer helps the IRS retrieve a trillion-dollar bill from Burns.
"Girly Edition" - Bart & Lisa on Kidz News, Homer gets a helper monkey, and the 1st appearance of the Crazy Cat Lady.
"Trash of the Titans" - The 200th episode of the series where Homer runs for sanitation commissioner.
I ended up getting the original "boxed" packaging rather then the "head" packaging. I'm not sure if the packagings share designs, but the set is designed in a way that promotes Lisa being in concert wailing on her sax. There are clever inserts that promote Lisa and the 200th episode. There are also postcards inserted that have the Rolling Stone magazine cover illustrations that have the Simpson family from 2002.
There are many special features such as commentaries, Bits from the animators, Animation showcases, Deleted scenes and commercials.
The first disc has a greeting from the series creator Matt Groening and opens with yet another sneak peek of the upcoming Simpsons Movie.
It's a great set and it features which many describe as being the last great season of the series. Personally, I may pick up season 10 and that may be it.
